CERVETERI

Located about 40 km N of Rome, between the Tyrrhenian coast and Lake Bracciano, the town of Cerveteri lies in a predominantly hilly and flat environment. In this area, almost 7 km from the sea, on a tufa plateau naturally defended by high and steep ridges, the ancient city of Caere stood, whose first occupation dates back to the Iron Age (9th – 8th century BC).
